LGBTQIA+ inclusive football in Bristol
We're an LGBTQIA+ friendly football team based in Bristol. Founded in 2000, we're a club that believes in providing everyone with a fun, supportive environment to play football, develop their skills and make friends. All players are welcome, whatever your experience, ability, sexuality or gender identity. We are proudly affiliated to Bristol City FC through the Bristol City Robins Foundation. We were only the second LGBTQIA+ club in the country to have a formal affiliation with an English Football League side.

As of Autumn 2025, we train each Thursday from 8pm - 9:30pm at Imperial Sports Ground in South Bristol (Imperial Sports Ground Bristol | A registered Charity) Anybody is welcome to get in touch and book onto a session - your first session is free!
We play regular fixtures in Bristol and across the country in Division 1 of the GFSN (Gay Football Supporters Network), the GFSN Shield and Cup competitions, as well as playing in the South West Pride Football League. These leagues offer a mix of competitive football, for those with more experience, and inclusive football for all. In addition to this, we run in-house friendlies to ensure all within the club have the opportuntiy to play 11-a-side football. We also welcome supporters to come along to any of our fixtures!
FAQ
What's so good about playing with the Panthers?
Panthers is all about people feeling able to be their authentic selves whilst enjoying football, making friends and sharing experiences on and off the pitch. We believe this is great for player's mental and physical health, as well as their confidence, and we love to see our players grow as part of the Panthers family.
What does an 'inclusive' club mean?
It means we welcome people of all sexualities, gender identities and backgrounds. Whether you want to be part of our first team competing in the GFSN league, or want to build up your experience playing at training, you are very welcome.
What can I expect on a Thursday?
On Thursdays you can expect a mix of training drills, team building and matches (often 7 or 8 a-side).
Do you have social events?
Yes! We have regular social events throughout the year, including cycle rides, quizzes, an awards night and nights out.
I'm nervous about coming, what should I do?
Message us on our socials or via this website, and one of our committee will be in touch to find out more about you and answer any questions. Your first session is free to try, or you can always come along and watch one of our matches to come and meet us!
